Domestic Partners
Crossridge Family Dentistry

We are partnered with Crossridge Family Dentistry, located in Richmond, VA, to improve the oral/dental health and hygiene of underserved children and families in Ghana. Through our partnership, we were able to provide brushes, paste, and oral hygiene educational materials to hundreds of Ghanaian schoolgirls at Mawuko Girls' Secondary School in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region. We look forward to additional dental/oral health programs in the future and hope to one day have Dr. Babik come with us to Ghana to provide direct dental services to the rural villagers.
International Partners
Irani Brothers and Others Company, Ltd

The Irani Brothers Company, a long-standing family-owned business in Ghana, produces high-quality flour and mill products. They generously donated the medications and mosquito bed nets for the June/July 2011 medical clinics. Over 1,000 people were treated with the medications they provided, and over 800 families were provided a mosquito bed net and are now highly protected against many deadly mosquito-borne diseases of tropical Africa, namely malaria. We are deeply grateful to the Irani Brothers and Others Company and all their stakeholders. We look forward to an ongoing partnership for the improvement of the health and well-being of rural Ghanaians in the Volta Region and elsewhere.
Life for the Living Medical Centre

We are partnered internationally with Life for the Living Medical Centre or LILIMED, based in Ho, the capitol of Ghana's Volta Region. Without their invaluable local expertise and central role in running the medical clinics, we would not be able to do anything!
Lilimed is a non-profit NGO established and directed by Ghanaian volunteers with a desire to see positive holistic change in their country and region. They organize and engage in medical, social, environmental, agricultural, educational, and development programs to serve the needs of people in the Ho Municipal area and the surrounding villages. Lilimed currently operates out of its medical clinic in Ho, where patients are treated on a daily basis, but maintains a long-term vision of extending its services to other regions.
The Lilimed clinic specializes in eye-care and treatment as well as the maladies affecting children and adults. Most of the cases they see involve the treatment of malaria, malnutrition, fever, respiratory and pulmonary conditions, wounds, general body aches and arthritis, eye trauma, cataracts, glaucoma, onchocerciasis, corneal scars, refractive errors, and pterygium. In addition, the centre does critical research about the causes of eye conditions in order to enhance prevention. Staff and volunteers also visit bedridden patients who cannot afford to visit the hospital, health centers, or health posts due to financial difficulties and transportation problems. They also offer counseling and training workshops for youth on HIV/AIDS prevention.
Rev. Benjamin Bankas, Lilimed director, and the clinic staff are enthusiastic about welcoming local and international volunteers to join their team in serving the Ghanaian people. While the clinic staff conducts a bimonthly outreach to surrounding villages, they invite international students and professionals to be a part of these special missions and apply donations to buying medications and supplies for people served by the mobile clinic.
