The toilet block in Logba has been making great progress. As you can see in the pictures below, the block has laid and the roof is now on. What is left is to make finishing touches to the inside of each stall - 8 in total.

The 2016 team had an amazing time in Ghana - a team of 5 medical students from VCU and 5 residents from St Francis Family Medicine traveled to Ghana in June 2016. Their trip was multi-faceted, involving clinical care via medical clinics, and public health/development projects including water filter distribution and restroom facility construction.
The team saw a total of 841 patients in 5 villages. 50 water filters were distributed to families in one of the villages. A large-scale restroom block project was initiated in another community. Progress has been slow and steady due to the rainy season, and more updates are coming soon. Overall, the 2016 trip was a great success. We thank all of our friends and supporters for helping make this happen! We are excited to announce the 6th annual R4G Gala dinner. It will be on April 15th, from 6pm to 9pm. We will have delicious food, Ghanaian drumming, a silent auction, and a keynote speaker. 100% of the proceeds will go toward public health, clean water, and sanitation projects in our villages in Ghana.

Click here to view the email. Please subscribe to updates if you would like to receive the emails straight to your inbox! One of the major accomplishments was building a well in Logba Horglikope. Click on the video below for a slideshow summary of the project. We aim to continue our partnership with Reverend Bankas, Lilimed, and the drilling company and build wells in several other villages as well. The structure is optimal, with the company providing training to a water management committee, Reverend Bankas and Lilimed being in country and following up with the village leaders, and the community partnering to provide the cement materials and labor to construct the well. Thanks for your interest in R4G. 2016 team applications are due soon for medical students - Monday, September 14th. You may email them to [email protected]. We hope we will get to review your application and work with you to go to Ghana!
